Step 1
The translator thoroughly reads the text. Applying this practice enables the translator to gain knowledge of the material. It also allows the translator to prepare the list of terms and concepts that may require further research or may pose difficulty in translating.
Step 2
Translation of the text begins, using proper tools. Proper tools include the appropriate dictionary, glossaries, and other research aids. The proper computer software and hardware are also necessary for a good job to be done.
Step 3
The translation is proofread and edited by the translator thoroughly.
Step 4
After a few hours, or a day, the translator will re-read the translation without making any reference to the source document. What is examined is the quality of the expression, grammatically and culturally. This enables the translator to perform any further editing on the translation that may be necessary.
Step 5
A second translator will review the “final” translation, checking to see if anything has been left out, overlooked, or mistranslated, and Step 3 is carried out one final time. Any changes necessary are discussed by the second translator. The original translator implements the changes necessary on the translation, pursuant to the recommendations from the second translator.
